The Balkan History Association was represented by its president, Mihai Dragnea, and member, Timothy French, at the international conference “The Second Bulgarian Tsardom and Its Role in the Historical Development of Medieval South Eastern Europe. The Balkans and Lower Danube River Basin in XII – XV C”. This was organized on 24-26 October 2025 by the Faculty of History of “St. Cyril and St. Methodius” University of Veliko Tarnovo and its Centre for Medieval Studies, in collaboration with the University of Bucharest and the Balkan History Association. The conference is dedicated to the 840th anniversary of the Uprising of Peter and Asen, and the creation of the Second Bulgarian Tsardom. You can access the conference programme via this link.
